Happy Valentine’s Day, friends. On a Valentine’s Day like this years ago, I shared a bunch of flash/fiction that pierces the heart in the manner in which they explore themes of love. Back in Feb 2022 I posted “7 LOVE STORIES to read on Valentine’s Day” including stories from Murakami, Cath Barton, Veronica Montes, and others. Resharing today in case you’re interested 😀
I thought maybe the easy way is boring at this point in time. Why not explore the inverted syntax of love? So, today, I dug around and came up with some unusual ways in which love has been explored in literary fiction. Although none of these are unheard of, it is always interesting to tread the road less travelled and apply one of these for writing a story today.

I hope you’re enjoying the guest blogposts, the first ofwhich appeared last Sunday “Through an Editor’s Eyes: The Joys and Realities of Running a Literary Magazine” by Singapore-based literary magazine Kitaab’s Editor, Namrata.
The second edition is scheduled for February 21! I’m so excited!

Happy reading and writing! And again, just a reminder, I have had a better-than-expected response to my call for guest posts, but you can always contact me should you have an idea on anything related to writing life that you think should be shared with other writers. Posts in 2024 alone have been viewed by visitors from 95 countries. Thanks for reading!
