Dear Friends,
Today marks four years since I launched this little corner of the internet—my author website! It is a space I carved out to share my writing, connect with readers, and give voice to others wanting to share theirs. I run my author site http://mandirapattnaik.com as a payback medium to Writing Community. It’s a craft posts library, a display window for writing, author interviews, guest posts, besides being a home for many general/community interest blogposts. First, let’s celebrate with a few stats:
Four years! In internet years, that feels like a lifetime.
When I celebrated my author website’s first anniversary with a video essay 3 Easy Steps on How to Make Your Author Website Work as Hard as You, I really meant it.
Earlier still, when I published my very first post, I had no idea what to expect, but I wanted it to be all that I missed as a new writer. A new writer like I was– one who is untrained, unsupported, with no mentors or workshops, but is hoping to make it big in international publishing, and is based in a back of beyond place.
I didn’t know if anyone would read it, or if I’d have the stamina to keep writing through the highs and lows that come with being a creative person in a noisy world. But I showed up. Again and again. And so did many of you.
Over the past four years, this site has been home to

What’s New?
Recently, I started a free monthly newsletter. Titled it: A Newsletter With a View of One’s Own, published on the first week of every month. I hope to make it what truly a newsletter should be–updates from the literary world, open submission windows, a few personal updates, some pro writing tips, views and opinions, and enlightening conversations. Also, a round-up of a few stories I truly recommend.
A Newsletter With a View of One’s Own 3rd Edition (=this month’s) proved to be the most read!
you should look foward to:
New blogpost “Reclaiming Writing Life By Staying Off Social Media” coming soon, which is the second part of this 2024 craft essay “Why am I pulling out of social media?“
Thanks a lot for staying with me, and being so supportive! If you have any suggestions on posts you’d like to see, or anything that’d help me improve, please feel free to get in touch.
Wishing you health and happiness!
With gratitude,
Mandira
