TESTIMONIALS
The impact the consultation has had is immense, and my words are no exaggeration. Choosing Pattnaik’s consultation program may very well be the best decision I’ve made as a writer. I knew I needed input from someone who was well-versed in flash fiction, BIPOC prose, and chapbooks. When I received my feedback report, I thought, This is amazing. The detail and attention she provides is methodical, precise, empowering, and personal. Before the program, I was unsure if publication was even an attainable goal. Now, I am confident that my book will make it out into the world.

MELISSA WITCHER
During my earliest years in publishing, I remember feeling uncertain about what to submit, where to send it, and how to capture editors’ interest. I still reflect on the mistakes I made then—mistakes that affected both my writing and my approach to submissions—with a sense of humility. Having learned valuable lessons through my experiences, I’ve been helping others who find themselves in the same challenging situation for 2+ years through the Manuscript Consultation Program. As a multiple chapbook author with over 350 published and forthcoming pieces, and as an experienced editor for various literary magazines, I offer low-fee consultations on fiction manuscripts. Drawing from my journey as both a writer and an editor who has sifted through thousands of submissions, I provide a thoughtful Critique Letter and a detailed Feedback Report that carefully highlight areas for improvement, complete with specific instances and suggestions. My aim is to empower you to make changes based on this analysis while preserving your unique voice and approach, guiding you toward making your work ready for publication with sensitivity and thoughtfulness.
I truly understand the anticipation that comes with submitting your work. For flash fiction, you can expect a detailed response with a Critique Letter and a Feedback Report within a week of receipt, while for other submissions, it may take up to a month.
Writers are required to utilize the message box below to inquire about the submission of manuscripts and the associated payment procedure. All manuscripts must be submitted in .doc/.docx format, double-spaced, and adhere to a 12-point font size.
