During my earliest years in publishing, I remember being confused about what to submit and where. Years later, I am still embarrassed by the mistakes I made then — mistakes as regards both my writing and my approach to the submissions process. As a multiple chapbook author (with over three hundred published/forthcoming pieces) and an experienced editor who has worked in several literary magazines, I am offering low-fee consultations on fiction manuscripts using my experiences as a writer first, and then as an editor with experience of reading thousands of submissions. You’ll get a Critique Letter and a detailed Feedback Report, individually highlighting areas that are to be worked upon, with instances and suggestions. You’ll be able to effect changes based on the analysis in a manner such that it preserves your unique voice and approach while making the work publication-ready.
RESPONSE TIMES: Within a week of receipt in case of flash fiction. Within a month for others.
FORMATTING: Writers are requested to use the message box to reach out for information regarding how to submit manuscripts and the process of payment. All manuscripts should be .doc/.docx, double-spaced and formatted in 12-point font.
RATES: The rates to submit work for this consultation program are as follows:
Flash fiction, up to 2 pages in length | US$25 (feedback and line edits) |
